Walt Hansmann, Founder and Chief Skilling Officer of Walt Hansmann Training & Development, LLC, and License to Skill, LLC, is a Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) and a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM).

Mission. Walt’s mission is to transform lives and organizations.

Trainer. Walt has been working in the training and development industry for over 40 years. He has transformed organizations, small and large. Walt's workshops equip managers and teams with the skills to succeed — without the need for titles to prove their leadership. His passion is to help people become better versions of themselves.

A Family Man. Walt and Jan have been married since 1977 and have raised two exceptional children.

Walt’s Wanderings. Walt has conducted workshops and keynotes in 49 states and five countries. 

The Fan. Walt is president of the Oklahoma Cornhusker Club, the Nebraska Alumni Association’s fan club deep in Sooner, Cowboy, and Hurricane country.

Author. Walt has authored hundreds of articles. He has two new books in progress. 

Agility. Walt’s clients refer to him as their “Swiss Army Knife” thanks to his vast technical and facilitation skills. Clients use Walt’s broad knowledge of leadership and communication skills to transform their teams.

Volunteer. Walt has a long history of volunteer leadership.

• Walt has been a member of the Tulsa Chapter of the Association for Talent Development (ATD) since 1985. He served on the ATD Tulsa Board for 14 years, including as president in 2019. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Award in 2015.
• Walt was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout adult leader for more than 20 years.
• Walt also served as a youth soccer coach and youth soccer referee for 13 years.
• Walt has been an active member of Toastmasters International since 2007 holding several club and district offices. He has earned the Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) recognition.
• Walt was a member of the Nebraska Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees) for nearly 20 years. He was recognized by The United States Junior Chamber of Commerce as one of the top five members in the nation in 1982.
